We do about 20% of our revenue yearly on repairing glass railings gone wrong for customers that used other companies. If you would like to get in contact with people in this position, we can provide details so you can see from the source, why internet glass railing companies and even well known local glass companies are not glass railing specialists and how it all quickly goes wrong without recourse other than courts for the customer. Without knowing the engineering needs, the code needs, the specific glass needs that reflect the hardware needs, there is a slim chance to get the job correct. Many times, we are called to brand new houses, a homeowner got a company to do glass railings, and the two most common issues we encounter is; a) the glass type is incorrect, b) the engineering documents were not done and code compliance has told the owner to replace the railing. This happens because the process of glass railings is actually very intricate, many things need to be assessed.
We use products that are not only code compliant but the best quality. This is due to experience and engineering. We are a glass railing specialist so we see this everyday - we have experienced many varieties of hardware - others not so much.
THE STEPS YOU SHOULD TAKE TO VERIFY YOUR GLASS RAILING INSTALLER:
1) Search the company name in this link which takes you to my Florida license website which is a government website which allows you to check the status of your installer. Search their company name on this link - if their name does not appear - they are NOT licensed. Ergo-Glass IS a certified general contractor which is the highest tier. If your contractor is not on here - they are not a contractor and YOU COULD BE LIABLE if they get hurt on your property as FL law states. This is the absolute first thing to check. Also check that the NAME of the person licensing the company is someone who actually works for the company (talk to them personally).

2) Ask for the hardware and anchors they use, ask for the FLORIDA stamped engineering behind the actual hardware intended to be used, with out this you are likely getting an amazon product that will last a year and blow over in a storm. We can provide Florida stamped engineering for our hardware and glass. Our anchors are always the highest grade stainless steel. We can show you what they are and how much they cost. We don’t hide the products we use.
3) Our glass is NOT Chinese or Asian or South American content. Ask where your glass is coming from. Huge difference in quality as with everything else.
4) The person managing your job site - who is it? Our project manager is always a certified general contractor.
5) A GLAZIER is NOT ALLOWED by FL CODE to install any glass guard railing. They do not possess the knowledge needed. Do not get a glazier or regular glass company, you need a general contractor who specializes in glass.
6) Make sure the company understands the code - we are experts in the code.
This is where we separate ourselves from the rest.
We specialize in frameless glass railings, this is our absolute most important factor, and glass railings go wrong very easily.
We are the only FL company certified independently to use best practices by SafetyBuild Ltd.
We know the rules. We understand anchoring, hardware, windload calculations, and everything that goes with glass railings. If you ask us, why we use a certain anchor, why we use glass only to a certain length, why we have any design spec, we can answer it with a valid reason.
Not only do we know why we use the products we use, but we have engineering documentation to back it up.
The other reason is this. When you talk to us, you talk directly to a Certified General Contractor. Not a salesman. The person quoting you, explaining why, is not repeating things, and renting a license from someone else. Our company has a CGC license, the highest level of contractor in FL. For this reason, we always recommend when getting quotes ask for the GC directly, and see what the company says.
We offer a breadth of experience you can trust and rely on.

The METHOD and TYPE of anchor - extremely important decision
The difference with Ergo Glass is, and has been, we don’t go to Miami, or South America for the cheapest glass, we don’t buy the cheaper carbon, or 304, or poor quality 316ss we buy the best to have the best product. Glass railings are under a lot of forces constantly, you need the right anchors, and you need them installed correctly by someone who does it day in day out, and understands the norms. See below, why we take such care in anchoring selection. Ergo Glass goes the extra mile that the customer will probably never know or hopefully need to know. We do it because it is the right way to do it, not to make more money on least cost.
